Neoscona adianta (Walckenaer, 1802)

Occurrence:Neoscona adianta is common in in meadows, forests or along the water. In Czech Republic it lives only in South Moravia. Description: The species is characterized by its elongated yellow or brown abdomen with black nad white wavy marking. Adult female can grow to about 11 mm long. Period of occurrence: Juveniles are seen from May, adults are seen from summer to autumn. Web: Neoscona adianta builds its dense and strong web to about 1 meters above the ground. The spider responds to a prey soon. Most of the time it is sitting on the central area. It makes signal thread and bowl nest. Food: Its food is small flying insects.
